Question by richele152: Does anyone sell wedding insurance?
I want to know about selling wedding insurance. How did you start and do you sell any other insurance?
I don’t want to know about buying it, i’m asking about selling it.

Are you asking for special event coverage, rain-out coverage, or runaway bride (groom) coverage?
In any case, it’s a specialty line – you’d have to go to an insurance broker to have it placed on the excess market – kinda like a hole-in-one policy.
You can’t make a living selling just that, sorry. It’s going to be pretty pricey, depending on terms. If you don’t know whether or not you can make a living selling one tiny niche like that – you can’t. It’s a poor business plan for a whole BUNCH of reasons – which most people with ANY insurance experience could figure out.

Wedding insurance is actually something new to caterers since we carried our own insurance policies. There has been so much talk about it that actually some brides are asking now if they should get a one day only insurance policy ….. more at bridesbridesbrides.blogspot.com

Insurance is a complete waste of money for almost all aspects everything we buy insurance for. For the most part, insurance is a prepaid way of paying for something that is going to happen no matter what. Let’s take dental insurance for example. You know you’re going to the dentist and you know that you’re going to get your teeth cleaned, examined, and xrayed. Since this total will be a fairly standard amount and you will probably be doing this twice a year, your insurance company takes that total amount and adds what you will pay for a crown or two and divides the total by 12 monthly payments and then adds 25% to do you a favor and then charges you the total. A really smart person like you pays the total thinking you have “insurance”. You’ve spent well over twice the amount on dental care that you would have normally paid for and you have nothing more to show for it.
Be smart. Be your own insurance agent. Here’s how it works. Since you want wedding insurance, decide how much a wedding costs. Don’t guess. Do the research. Decide where you’ll have it and get the cost for doing so. Put the numbers together. Add 4%-5% per year to the total for inflation. Divide the total for all the wedding expenses by 12 and put that amount in a savings account each month.
Remember, you will now save the 25% that the insurance company would charge you. You’ll have the interest you earn on the money and not give it to the insurance company and you will have a nice nest egg for your wedding in a very short period of time.
Got it? Don’t be stupid. Be smart, like you really are.
biff kaposh you are insane, and people like you that just go without insurance and pay for the bills out of pocket cost all of us billions a year
yeah, i plan on going to a dr. once a year for a physical, so i will just save out 400 a year for that, but wait on the way to the dr. my appendix burst or i fall and crack my knee, then all the sudden i have a bill for 70,000 dollars that i cant pay, hurray for no insurance
wedding insurance is pretty rediculous, first off i think wedding are pretty much the biggest rip off going on, unreal that people spend 25000 on a wedding, then are short of money in their marriage or cant use that for a downpayment on a house, they screw themselves for years just to have one day with some pictures, just have a small wedding or even a justice of the peace wedding, you are still just as married as if you waste 25k
