Question by Priรciℓℓα ✟: Are there any websites or resources that make planning wedding bouquets any easier?
I’m very overwhelmed by how many flowers there are. All I know is that I want large, bright and inexpensive bouquets for my bridal party.
So I’m trying to figure out large, cheap blue flowers, purple flowers, and green..things to fill. The wedding is in October.
Are there websites or books that help with this?

Here are a couple of websites for you to try:
www.diyflowers.com (you may just have to put in diy flowers but they are a company of two women that has videos and can help you by email too)
www.fiftyflowers.com (very helpful and useful too when trying to pick flowers)

I would go to a florist and tell them just what you posted here. They’ll give you some ideas.
To save bucks, you could just let the flowers for your party go, and just have some on the altar, assuming you’re doing this in a church at all. The flowers for your maids will be a huge expense that will be put aside and largely forgotten. Don’t even bother with it.
Yes, I do know that everybody does have flowers for their bridesmaids. You are, I daresay, not everybody. Do not do what “everybody does.” Do what actually makes good sense to you. It’s YOUR day, not “everybody’s.”
Don’t feel bad about trying to save some money on flowers. They can be one of the biggest wedding expenses, and in my opinion, they’re not all that important. So just take your budget and color ideas to some florists and see what kind of prices they can quote you. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Don’t bother with bouts for the guys unless you really want them. This will save money and no one will care that the groomsmen don’t have flowers. They guys might even be happy not to be wearing flowers.
If you think you could put together your own bouquets, take a look at these wholesale flower sites.

Fresh Roses is a great site, because you can search by wedding month. http://www.freshroses.com/oct.html will take you right to flowers that will be best for your wedding.
I also really like Fifty Flowers, because you can search by color. http://www.fiftyflowers.com/flowers/WeddingFlowers_3/Color.htm?cur_page=2 This link has all their blue and purple choices.
Now for some flower arranging tips:
-Look up bouquet tutorials online. Videos are probably the best way to learn.
-Pick sturdy flowers so they don’t need extra support.
-After choosing the flowers you want, do a test run to make sure everything looks good and you’re comfortable making the bouquets.
-Be flexible on the shades of the flowers. A mix of blue and purple will always look great, so don’t be too disappointed if the flowers aren’t the shade you expected.
-Have the flowers delivered two days before the wedding.
-Get some help putting the flowers together the day before the wedding to make it as stress-free as possible.
