Question by natasha9904: What is a 3rd party – Wedding Picture Copyright License Agreement?
I got a cd of pictures from my wedding. It says I can reproduce, distribute or publicly display the pictures but does not include the ability to license the image to third parties.

What is a third party? Is that other family and friends? Is that other photographers or graphic designers? Or is that places like snapfish?

I wanted to do a small photo book on snapfish but I don’t want to get in trouble…

Answer by HIS!
The contract is between you and photographer. You have the rights to print and distribute the photos to anyone you want to in your friendship group.

However, you can not turn around and sell the license to another individual or company which would allow them to print the photos and sell them or distribute them.

Example: You can distribute them all you want. You can not sell them to your local newspaper and let them make money by selling copies of your photos. The photographer retains the rights to make money if any third party wishes to sell and distribute his/her work.

So YES! You can make a photo book anywhere for yourself. Not a problem at all!
